  • During pandemic, many companies change their daily basis activity at home which is called “work from home (WFH). this activity also cannot avoid to emit the emissions due to the usage of some utilities at home such as computers and gas.
  • The survey done by Reuters shows that six of companies’s employees emitted the equivalent of 134,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide in the early of pandemic.
  • Eventhough during pandemic many employees do not commute everyday which suppose to cut down the emission but the problem is still there.
  • Due to the issue, companies are trying to develop the way to reduce the emission effectively during work from home.

Tech and financial companies leading efforts to cut climate changing emissions are finding a new challenge from remote work: the CO2 spewing out of home offices.

A few companies have begun counting what happens when employees boot up computers at home, turn up gas furnaces and ignore the world’s most energy-efficient corporate campuses. It turns out that home setups popularized by the pandemic are eroding some of the climate benefit of abandoned commutes.
